Spanish companies seek to take advantage of China's comprehensive policies that encourage foreign investment

With the announcement of China's implementation of comprehensive policy plans to encourage foreign investment, expand market access and strengthen communication with foreign companies and chambers of commerce last Tuesday, opportunities for Spanish markets and companies are gaining strength in the Asian market. 

China's State Council, through the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), pledged on Tuesday to strengthen communication with foreign companies and address their needs. 

Within this framework, the Spanish entity NI HAO CONECTA, has organised the IX NI HAO CONECTA (NHC) meeting, under the title "Triangle of investment and business China - Spain - Latin America" in Shanghai, taking advantage of the development of a business mission to project Spanish and Latin American entities in China.

During the meeting, which was attended by entities and investors from Shanghai and other regions such as Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Suzhou and Jiaxing, Chinese investment groups and entities were able to reflect and learn about trends and opportunities in Spain and Latin America for the Chinese market. Some of the points of the conference revolved around: the successful development and organisation of official and business missions to Latin markets, sectors with more international projection in the China-Spain-Latin America triangulation and the importance of diplomatic relations between countries were some of the pillars of the conference. 

"The opening of borders and the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the People's Republic of China and the Kingdom of Spain in 2023 have marked positive scenarios for the strengthening of ties between the two countries. Not only in the field of China-Spain-Latin America tourism, but also in business and investment", said Laura González Escallada, founder and partner of NI HAO CONECTA (NHC).

For her part, Akemi Xie, director of the China Desk and partner of Zhonglun W&D Law Firm, highlighted the opportunities and facilities that the Chinese market presents for foreign companies and the importance of guaranteeing the legal security of each entity. Unai Pacho Gomez, founder of UP Solutions and China Partner of NI HAO CONECTA has pointed out that, for the development in the internationalization of companies to China "it is vital to understand that the People's Republic of China cannot be understood as a homogeneous market to go to develop business globally, but that, to ensure the success of any operation, it is necessary to know how to choose the region according to the sector of specialization and develop a customized strategy for each one". 

In addition to the development of the IX NI HAO CONECTA meeting, this business mission also focuses on the institutional agenda, where the collaboration of the Consulates of Argentina, Uruguay and Spain in Shanghai and Invest Shanghai stands out.

Spanish brands in China: wine and beer

To close the IX NI HAO CONECTA meeting in Shanghai, the attendees were able to enjoy a cocktail with the wine and beer brands, Bodegas Alútiz and Estrella Galicia, as the main protagonists.
