The multinational company Kostal opens a new production unit in Tangier

The German multinational company based in Lüdenscheid, which is present in 21 countries around the world, opened on Tuesday, January 16, its new industrial unit in Tangier.
The "Kostal" group, active in the mechanical and electronic automotive parts industry, invested up to 25 million euros in the construction of this new project located in the region of Tangier Tetouan Al Hoceima.
Towards industrial cooperation
On this occasion, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Tawfik Musharraf, maintained, in his statement to the press, that "this industrial unit is the culmination of a fruitful cooperation between the ministry and the German group since the signing of the bilateral agreement in November 2021".
The new factory of the "Kostal" Group Morocco is also a very important boost for the Moroccan automotive industry which required an investment of more than 302 million dirhams. Added to this is its crucial role in complementing the value chain in the Moroccan automotive industry.
With an area of 12.5 hectares and ISO IATF and ISO 14001 certification, the new factory is a competitive player in the automotive parts supply chain alongside leading international automotive processors and suppliers.

Job creation
The representative of the Ministry of Industry announced that "the project had been supported within the framework of the "Stillantis" system, through which it is expected to generate a priori some 340 direct jobs".
In this sense, the new unit is expected to exceed this figure, as the factory is expected to contribute to the creation of 700 direct jobs in the professions of mechanics and electronics, according to the same official.

For his part, KOSTAL's CEO, Andreas KOSTAL, considered that "the inauguration of this new plant in Morocco is due to Morocco's strategic position as a gateway to Africa, its long history and the wealth of its natural resources, which makes it a promising country with exceptional development potential".
