Fusion of Arabic music and jazz at the Three Cultures Foundation with Basma Jabr

The Three Cultures Foundation, with the support of the Austrian Cultural Forum, will host a concert on Thursday, 22 May, featuring singer Basma Jabr, who is visiting Spain to present her album Furat, a tribute to iconic women of the Arab music scene of the last century.

Basma has earned a prominent place on the European music scene with her unique style that blends traditional Arabic music with jazz and contemporary elements. Her expressive and emotive voice has captivated audiences on major stages. The album ‘Furat’ highlights the role of women in Arabic music, reinterpreting songs by iconic singers of the last century with a modern approach. 

In addition to her musical work as a singer in various bands, Jabr has also collaborated on theatre productions and musical films on a global scale. Over the years, Jabr has developed a distinctive style that presents traditional Arabic music in a new and captivating way, while combining elements of jazz with contemporary influences.
