Raid Tanja-Lagouira: los participantes llegan a Dajla

Since the opening of the fourteenth edition of the Raid Tanja-Lagouira on Tuesday 1 November in Collado Villalba, the competitors have completed half of the route. The kick-off event, organised to commemorate the 47th anniversary of the Green March, took place in the Town Hall of Collado Villalba, in the presence of the President of the Dajla-Oued Eddahab County Council, Yanja El Khattat, the Ambassador of Morocco in Spain, Karima Benyaich, the mayoress of Collado Villalba, Mariola Vargas, and the delegate of the Moroccan National Tourist Office in Spain, Khalid Mimi, and now the race has settled in Dakhla where they will enjoy a rest day to get to know the region and soak up the culture of the area.
Through this 6,000-kilometre journey, the participants will appreciate the magical landscapes of the Moroccan Sahara, discover the places of adventure and change of scenery, discover the investment opportunities of the Southern Provinces of the Kingdom, but also lay a stone in the construction of this new Morocco. Karima Benyaich assures that the XIV Raid Tanja-Lagouira aims to strengthen and renew the friendship and cooperation between Morocco and Spain, stressing that the event is part of the dynamic initiated between the two countries. Omar El Alaoui El Balrhiti, president of the Association NORD SUD ACTION, organizer of this event, indicated, for his part, that the Raid proposes to unite the Provinces of the Kingdom, combining business and pleasure.

The event, beyond the sporting aspect, includes activities where the participants can enjoy the landscapes, roads, dunes, paradisiacal beaches and oases of the Moroccan Sahara, discover the provinces of southern Morocco with all its wealth and investment potential, especially the city of Dakhla and its magnificent region, and support humanitarian and social actions, deployed along the route. The organisers of the event maintain that they carry out social and solidarity actions, in coordination with humanitarian associations established in the Southern Provinces, such as the distribution of clothing and the creation of commercial activities for the benefit of people with reduced mobility. NORD SUD ACTION has also chosen to support certain associations by donating the funds that they could receive at the end of the Tanja-Lagouira Raid.
On the first day, the Raid went from Madrid to Seville, then to Tangier on the second day. On 3 November, the Tangier-Marrakech stage took place, followed by Marrakech-Guelmim the next day. The second half of the Raid Tanja-Lagouira stage will start in the city of Dakhla, where the participants will stay for four days. "The aim is to introduce participants to the Dakhla-Oued Edahab area, especially with all the investment opportunities it offers and the fantastic view of Dakhla, White Sand Dunes and the whole tourist route," explains Omar El Alaoui El Balrhiti.

In Dakhla, participants, including professional or amateur racing fans and adventure enthusiasts, as well as investors, will continue to explore the area. This is a vibrant adventure that welcomes both experienced participants and beginners as it crosses Morocco from north to south. "This is not a speed race, but a journey of discovery with the ultimate goal of reaching your destination safely," said the group.
"Every year, we organise actions in Dakhla in favour of local associations, through the distribution of clothes or school supplies, but also in favour of people with disabilities, through the creation of jobs, to make them economically independent, by distributing them popcorn or ice cream machines, etc., enabling them to easily manage and run their small business in front of their homes."

During each edition, we distribute six machines. These donations are financed by NORD SUD ACTION through its partners, including, this year, the Moroccan National Tourist Office, with the support of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region," concludes the president of the NORD SUD ACTION Association.
